HMMMM SAYS
Netflix wins the budget shelf by $42 a year and 5.8 fewer ad minutes an hour
If one subscription is all you can keep, I'd go with Netflix Standard with ads. It's $8.99/mo against Hulu's $12.49 — $107.88 versus $149.88 a year by my arithmetic on both companies' posted prices — and Ampere Analysis clocked it at 2.44 ad minutes an hour against Hulu's 8.23. Cheaper and less interrupted is a rare combination; usually you pick one. Pick Hulu instead if you watch current-season network TV, because Hulu's own guide puts ABC episodes up the day after broadcast and Netflix has nothing like it. That single habit is worth the extra $3.50 a month. Nothing else here is.
